In 1992 Stölzle acquired the small Czech glass factory in Hermanova Hut, which had been found by Karl Stölzle in 1907. This was originally a family business; the factory had two lines and a production staff of 120 concentrating on amber glass packaging for mini spirits and pharmaceuticals. In 1994 the production capacity was increased by 100%, achieving a yearly output of 270 million glass containers.
Continuous investment has improved both production and quality standards. Nowadays Stölzle Union is manufacturing its packaging glass in accordance with international standards GMP/ISO 15378. In 2002 the plant was completely modernized. Four fully automatic production lines with 6 and 8 section, single, double and triple gob machines have been installed, giving a capacity of 85 tons of amber glass per day, manufacturing around 420 million containers per annum.
In 2007 Stölzle Union celebrated its centenary. Nowadays little remains of the former, small glass factory. Stölzle Union has transformed itself into one of the Stölzle Glass Group’s leading producers of pharmaceutical glass and consumer spirit containers.
