Special exhibition in the Stölzle Glass Centre

The annual exhibition2005 in the Stölzle Glass Centre is dedicated to the extensive topic of hand-blown and handmade glass. Interested visitors will be able to see a large number of exhibition pieces from the Steiermark, Austria and countries worldwide. A considerable portion of the exhibition is dedicated to the history of glassmaking in the Steiermark region in general and the West Steiermark in particular.

Informative detail about the techniques and art of manufacturing glass by hand and by machine is supplemented by a wide range of historical and modern exhibits. Those visiting the exhibition as part of a guided tour during the morning from Monday to Friday will also have the opportunity to watch glassmakers from the Steiermark at their daily work. At the hand-blown glassworks in Bärnbach glass is still manufactured by hand in the traditional way.  

In contrast to many hand-blown glassworks which are maintained purely as display glassworks and who produce solely for their own factory sales outlet, production in Bärnbach is fully-fledged with a focus on upmarket lighting components. Customers include many well-known lighting manufacturers in middle and Western Europe, Scandinavia and North America.
