Stölzle-Oberglas

Information about the company

Visitors to the Stölzle Glass Centre in Bärnbach, in Austria’s Steiermark region, receive a graphic insight into the art of traditional glass blowing. Many visitors, however, would be surprised if they knew more precisely the true size of the whole organisation.

The export oriented company Stölzle-Oberglas, based in Köflach in the west Steiermark, currently generates more than 90% of its turnover abroad. Glass from the consolidated group of Stölzle-Oberglas companies is exported to more than 80 countries worldwide.

At a total of five production sites - Köflach and Bärnbach in the Steiermark region, Hermanova Hut in the Czech Republic, Czestochowa in Poland and Knottingley in Great Britain – Stölzle primarily produces packaging, drinking and lighting glass.

The lion’s share of the manufacturing is for the sector glass packaging for the pharmaceutical, cosmetic, spirits and food industries. Our multifaceted portfolio of glass packaging extends from exclusive ointment jars through containers for pills to the most diverse of bottles for branded spirits.

Stölzle-Oberglas also supplies national and international wholesalers, and the hotel and gastronomy industries, with high quality tableware: as well as classic water jugs the product line includes drinking glasses, decanters and special customer-specific forms. As the smallest enterprise within Stölzle-Oberglas, the hand-blown glassworks in Bärnbach is dedicated to producing lighting glass for top international brands.

23 fully automatic production lines and a classic hand-blown glassworks are supplemented by a comprehensive range of decorative and post production solutions.
